Documentaries supported by the Greek Cash Rebate programme
In the Festival’s programme, which included screenings of sensational documentaries from all over the world and more premieres than ever before, we also distinguished 3 works supported by the cash rebate of EKOME: “Made in Vain” by Michalis Kloumis which had a world premiere at the International Competition Newcomers, “Spetses ’21, at the Crossroads of History” by Panos A. Thomaidis in the section From Screen to Screen, with a special screening of an episode of the series “The Generation of the ’30s” for the great writer Stratis Myrivilis, produced by COSMOTE TV.
Agora Docs of the 23rd TDF
EKOME focused once more on the Documentary Festival Market, a meeting place for the collaboration of film professionals from around the globe.
We participated in the networking events of the Festival and the new Doc Counseling service, with audiovisual professionals offering private advisory meetings to creators from Greece and abroad. Eleni Kostala (Head of the Department of Development, Financial & European Programmes) and Petros Tsopanakis (Department of Development, Financial & European Programmes) were present at the Market from 30 June to 3 July 2021, offering information to directors and producers on the Greek financial incentives for the production of documentaries.
EKOME was also present in the Agora Talks section, supporting Peter Jäger’s masterclass which took place on Wednesday 30 June, 10.00-11.30 a.m., with the title “Is there any method in the marketing madness?”. The masterclass presented online introduced documentarists to a method of marketing and strategic tools to find funding and distribution for their work in a more effective manner.
