EKOME, for the third consecutive year, actively supports the European program for the development of screenplays and film projects “MFI Script 2 Film Workshops”, organized by the Mediterranean Film Institute , with great success for 22 years now.

This internationally recognized training program supports the development of screenplays for movies, tv series and documentaries, from the first stage of the concept as an idea to the final writing. Experienced and internationally known trainers, coming from abroad and Greece, guide the participants during the program, through meetings and workshops, lectures, and masterclasses.

Once more, Nisyros was the honorary place, from the 2nd to the 16th of July, hosting the “MFI Script 2 Film Workshops”, which was conducted online and live, observing all the necessary health protocols of Greece and the EU. Lectures were broadcasted live and on demand, for the participants to have all the tools they need to develop their projects when they really need them.

The educational program includes 34 works of fiction, TV series and documentaries, by 210 screenwriters, directors and producers, who were selected from 39 countries to develop their screenplay under the guidance of top trainers.

As part of its program, aiming to support creators through targeted vocational training processes, EKOME awards 4 scholarships to the MFI, to producer screenwriters and / or directors for 2 different project designs. During the training program at Nisyros, EKOME gave two scholarships to the following projects:

• TV series TRUTH BE LIES by Christos Karabelas & Konstantinos Gourgiotis
• Documentary THE SECRETS OF THE OWL by Eirini Vourloumis & Leonidas Liambeys.

EKOME’s participation in this year’s “MFI Script 2 Film Workshops” , on Nisyros was completed with the direct acquaintance with the participants, active presence in the workshops, as well as the presentation of Vasiliki Diagouma, Head of Communication and International Relations (click here to watch the full presentation), in an extensive description of EKOME’s mission, the program of attracting audiovisual producers in our country, the field of action and the results from its 3 years of operation.

The educational program includes:

• One workshop in Nisyros, from 2 to 16 July
• A 2-weeks online session, to be held in August / September 2021
• One laboratory session in Rhodes, from 10 to 17 October 2021
• A 2-weeks online session, to be held in December 2021
