EKOME is glad to announce its partnership with the 12th Zagoriwood that takes place from the 17th of July until the 1st of August at the picturesque village Kato Pedina of the Zagori region, one of Greece’s most gorgeous landscapes. Against the backdrop of the wild beauty of Epirus’s mountains – that offer unique filming locations – and with the motto “we are not just talking about cinema, we are making movies”, Zagoriwood’s rich program included screenings of recently produced Greek and international films, as well as film workshops, creation of short films, river visits, and improvised music!
Directors presenting their films for the first time in public like “The Echoes of the World” by Petros Sevastikoglou, as well as new collaborators of the Festival like the directors Alexis Alexiou, Dimitris Zachos, Zacharias Mavroidis and actor Argyris Pantazaras, are in Zagoriwood to offer masterclasses and talk to the audience, whereas film students and stakeholders have the opportunity to attend workshops on screenwriting, film reviewing and acting.
At the same time, Zagoriwood curates a selected program of recent Greek short films, which travels to the villages of Zagori with the aim to introduce the work of up-and-coming Greek directors to the audience.
EKOME was present in Zagoriwood and attended screenings, networking events, and workshops.
