A record number of entries in the 4th International Student Competition for Educational Board and Digital Games Design by Creative Greece!
For the fourth consecutive year, teams of students and educators from schools in Greece and Cyprus participated in the Competition by creating imaginative and innovative board and digital games. The number of entries this year skyrocketed: we received 148 complete games, of which 104 were board games and 44 digital games. Overall, we had a 130% increase in submissions compared to last year, when 64 games (48 desktop and 16 digital) were entered. The entry from schools in Cyprus was also impressive this year with 42 entries from all school levels.
The keen participation of the school community highlights once again that wonders can be worked at school when motivation, cooperation and collective effort are involved, and that learning can be (and is) a game!
Based on the evaluation criteria (originality of the idea of the game, excellence in design and implementation, educational aspects and compliance with the learning curriculum, the combination of entertainment and learning, active student participation at all creation stages, depending on their particular features and the level of education) Creative Greece is pleased to announce the outcome (awards and mentions) of the Jury Committees for the 4th International Student Competition for Educational Board and Digital Games Design “The lesson… is a game! “, for school year 2023-2024.
We congratulate the winning school teams and all the student teams and their teachers who participated, for their enthusiasm, creativity, inspiration, excess time and soul!
We hope to meet again next school year – stay tuned for the announcement of the 5th Competition (this Fall!
The Competition was co-organized by the Hellenic Film and Audiovisual Center (former EKOME), the Hellenic Ministry of Digital Governance, the Association of Information and Communication Engineers and the Hellenic Association of Graphic Design Technology Graduates, in collaboration with the Educators’ Team for the ScratchGame Competition, under the auspices of the Region of Attica and the General Secretariat of Greeks Abroad and Public Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
