EKOME is participating for yet another year in the Short Film Market of Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival (February 5-8, 2024), and is organizing a national stand, in collaboration with the Greek Film Centre-GFC, with the aim to promote Greek short films and the networking of Greek short filmmakers with professionals from all over the world. The national stand will also be hosting Drama International Short Film Festival (DISFF), as the support and promotion body par excellence for short films in Greece.
This year, our country is represented at the biggest short film festival in the world by Stavros Markoulakis’ film “Ta peristeria arrostainoun otan i poli flegetai” (“Pigeons are dying, when the city is on fire”), which has been officially selected to participate in the International Competition section, as part of the 66 films screened in total.
The Festival will also feature the film “Bella” by Thelyia Petraki, which was awarded with the 2020 Golden Dionysus – Best Film Award at DISFF, and was a European Short Film award nominee in 2021.
During the Short Film Market, the delegates of EKOME will be present at the Greek stand, in order to promote the funding tools of 40% Cash Rebate and 30% Tax Relief, managed by EKOME and designed to both support domestic audiovisual production and attract international productions to Greece. Furthermore, professionals of the audiovisual industry and representatives of production companies will have the opportunity to get up to date with the significant incentives and coordinated efforts made during the last years, which aim at helping Greece emerge as an audiovisual hub of Europe.
