EKOME, firmly oriented to the promotion of Greece as an ideal destination for the realization of audiovisual productions and to the support of Greek creators, is once again present this year at the European Film Market of the 74th Berlinale 2024 (February 15-25). Greece will participate in the Agora with a National Pavilion (G13) which is co-organized by EKOME and the Hellenic Film Center and which hosts the Thessaloniki International Festival.
Projects
Yorgos Zois’film “ARCADIA” has its world premiere at the Festival participating in the Encounters competition section. The film was realized with the support of the Greek cash rebate and EKOME.
Elina Psykou’s first television project “The Coroner’s Assistant “ is the first Greek series presented in the Co-Pro Series section of the Festival. It is a political thriller set in 1970s Greece and features femicide, cover-up attempts and corruption.
The documentary “Exergue – on documenta 14” by Dimitris Athiridis has its world premiere as a special screening in the Special Screenings section of the 74th International Film Festival of Berlin. The official announcement of the Festival describes the documentary as the second longest film ever made.
Education
EKOME’s executives will also participate in the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the European Children’s Film Association (ECFA) which will take place on Saturday, February 17, 2024.
The agenda of the meeting includes an overview of ECFA’s recent and upcoming activities and an Open Mic session, in which members will briefly present new projects and launch calls for collaboration.
EKOME aims to meeting, networking and exchanging knowledge and information with relevant European organizations and professionals in the field of audio-visual education for children and young people as well as exploring possible synergies and multiple forms and exchange opportunities with European agencies.
The national pavillion
The members of the Greek delegation will have daily contacts and meetings with professionals of the international audiovisual sector and they will present the important investment incentives of EKOME’s financial programs (cash rebate 40%) which aim to attract international audiovisual producers to Greece and create a favorable ecosystem for co-productions and transnational artistic collaborations.
