EKOME firmly focused on attracting international audiovisual productions in Greece, has completed yet another successful presence at this year’s international gathering of audiovisual production companies and professionals, Focus Meet the makers, which took place on December 5 and 6, 2023, at London’s Business Design Center.

The national stand, organized in common by EKOME and the Greek Film Centre-GFC also hosted the delegates of the Central Macedonia Region , the Region of Epirus Film Office and the City of Thessaloniki Film Commission, and attracted many professionals, who were updated on the country’s investment and funding schemes, the high quality of services and skilled and experienced professionals, as well as the strategic advantages of Greece as an ideal destination for the realization of audiovisual productions. The representatives of the Film Offices national network presented to the foreign professionals the services provided by Regions and Municipalities regarding the facilitation of audiovisual productions.
During the exhibition, the Greek delegates had b2b meetings with professionals of the audiovisual industry, who were informed to-the-point about the competitive funding tools of 40% cash rebate and 30% tax relief, as well as all the comparative advantages, which render Greece an ideal destination for audiovisual productions.
“Greece: a filming hub with endless possibilities”
On December 5, the Head of EKOME’s Financing and European Programs Development Department, Eleni Kostala, and the Acting Director of GFC’s Hellenic Film Commission, Stavroula Geronymaki, presented to professionals from all over the world a detailed analysis of the current framework of audiovisual productions realization, as well as the high standard of services and support offered, rendering Greece an ideal location for international productions.
The presentation also featured presentations by Konstantinos Kontovrakis of Heretic Films and James Clayton of Ithaca Films, producers of Uberto Pasolini’s feature film “The return”, starring Ralph Fiennes and Juliette Binoche who shared their personal experience from shooting in Greece, the facilitations they received from the Ionian Film Office, and particularly praised the important support by EKOME and the cash rebate investment incentive.
The presentation, which was enriched with scenes from recent productions realized in the country, and references to the exquisite Film Offices’ locations, spurred the audience’s interest, and triggered important business meetings that followed at the Greek delegation’s stand.
