H.F.C.A. – Creative Greece (EKKOMED) joined in 2025 the Management Committee of “Creative Europe” Program, with appointed members Mr. Argyris Peroulakis (main representative), executive Member of the Board of Directors and Ms. Irene Andriopoulou (alternate member), Director of Creative Hub GR for Innovation, Technology and Education, in order to represent Greece in the EU meetings of the above Management Committee. “Creative Europe” program (2021-2027) is supported by the European Union with the amount of €2.44 billion in the cultural and audiovisual sector, replacing the previous Culture and Media Programs, supporting actions in the cultural sector that encourage transnational cooperation, platforms and networks. EKKOMED is responsible for promoting MEDIA strand of the “Creative Europe” program, which supports European film and audiovisual organizations to develop, distribute and promote their work in a number of fields, such as: enhancing innovation and competitiveness, audience development, training or professional development, development of projects for international audiences and cross-border co-productions.

The Media & Learning Association (MLA) is an international, not-for-profit association set up in 2012 to promote and stimulate the use of media to enhance innovation and creativity in teaching and learning across all levels of education in Europe. MLA’s focuses on the use of media, extended reality (XR), and artificial intelligence (AI) in higher education, digital media literacy, teacher training in digital media literacy. MLA has 98 members from 25 countries that include national and regional agencies as well as universities, ministries of education and schools’ networks. H.F.A.C.-Creative Greece became a member in 2025.

IAME brings together organizations and individuals dedicated to promote and support media education. It brings together and coordinates the international activities of organizations that specialize in the field as well as individuals (educators, teachers, practitioners, researchers, etc.). The project intends to stimulate critical thinking in the media education sector, addressing its challenges and opportunities about the latest technical developments. IAME participates in projects, networks, conferences and relevant policy meetings supporting the practice of media education, as shaped by regional, national and global policies. It counts 121 members from 30 countries. H.F.A.C.-Creative Greece became a member in 2025.

The DAISSy Research Group of the Hellenic Open University (Hellenic Open University) implements as a Greek partner, the European project GenderED Coalition – A cross-country coalition against gender disinformation for equitable societies, which aims to create a safer, more equitable digital space, where gender misinformation is identified and positive social change is promoted. The GenderED Coalition addresses the misogyny behind this online phenomenon through media literacy and awareness-raising, and intends to sensitize as well as empower all social media users – girls and women who feel unsafe or are being attacked, boys and men as well as any individual – to react to gender misinformation. Creative Greece became a member in 2025.

The museums and non-profit cultural institutions, open to the public and based in Athens have decided to build the Athens Museums and Cultural Institutions Network. This initiative is based on three trajectories: the creation of a common ground for communication, the exchange of expertise and the co-operation between members in addressing specialised problems and organising join events and shared plans. The Network’s aims are to strengthen participants’ voices, to elaborate multifaceted schemes and to approach and involve larger audience groups in cultural agendas. 42 museums and cultural institutions are already participating in the Network, as well as other collaborating members. H.F.A.C.-Creative Greece became a member in 2025.

EMIL is a taskforce focused on media and information literacy (MIL), for media regulators and other organisations committed to promote MIL in Europe. EMIL provides insights about the world of media literacy and opportunities to inform each other, share information, seek to educate ourselves together and pool external resources for everyone. EMIL counts over 35 members allowing members to participate as a group in European and possibly even global debates and policy discussions about media literacy and networks. H.F.A.C.-Creative Greece became a member in 2025.

MLI network provides support, advice and guidance to a wide range of media literacy stakeholders (national and international). MLI aims to create a platform for facilitating dialogue and the exchange of ideas, and encouraging the development of sustainable media literacy projects, programmes and interventions, such as the MLI Awards Programme. It fosters discussion and debate around all aspects of media literacy in Ireland and abroad with a view to helping to identify emerging issues, gaps in provision, opportunities for collaboration. H.F.A.C.-Creative Greece became a member in 2024.

The European Commission brings together the representatives of EU Member States in the Media Literacy Expert Group coordinated by DG Connect. The mission of this group is to discover, document and extend good practices in the field of media literacy; facilitate networking between different stakeholders etc. The group, operating since 2006 on an EU level, counting more than 30 members, meets twice every year to: a) identify, document and extend good practices in the field of media literacy, b) explore ways of coordinating EU policies and support programmes, c) build synergies between the media literacy activities of Member States. H.F.A.C.-Creative Greece was appointed as national delegate on behalf of the Ministry of Culture in 2024.

The Association of Greek Librarians and Information Scientists was established in 1968 and is the only recognized Panhellenic scientific association for Greek librarians. The Association has multiple objectives, the main ones being: a) the recognition and promotion of library science and the recognition of the role of the librarian in the community, b) to promote the development and modernization of libraries in Greece, c) organizing conferences, workshops and meetings with other organizations and institutions, d) upgrading libraries and modernizing their technology, e) the evaluation and utilization of the wealth of information that is available in modern media (the internet) and social media and making the media accessible to all citizens through the libraries. H.F.A.C.-Creative Greece became a member in 2024.

The European Digital Education Hub is an online community that connects education enthusiasts from across Europe. The mission of the Hub is to overcome the current fragmentation of digital education policy, research, and implementation practices at european level. By using the Hub, members aim to achieve this goal through sharing best practices, collaborating across education and training sectors. The Hub gathers a wide range of professionals connected to the digital education sector. These profiles depend on the activity topic or mission. They can include school educators, teacher trainers, policy makers, school representatives. H.F.A.C.-Creative Greece became a member in 2024

The Local Thematic Network of Film Education of the Directorate of Primary Education of Imathia “From the Conception of Idea and Script Writing to the Creation of a Short Film” is implemented in cooperation with the Regional Municipal Theater of Veria. The Network, which aims at professional capacity development of teachers and enhancement of their knowledge on issues related to audiovisual media and cinema, involves 18 schools (kindergartens, primary schools), 66 teachers and 624 students, highlighting the increased interest of the local community in issues of film education and training. H.F.A.C.-Creative Greece supports the Network since 2024 with film literacy workshops in promoting film education at local, regional and national level, to strengthen cinematic expression in education and enhance skills in the audiovisual and digital world.

Founded in 1988, ECFA is an association for all who are interested in producing high quality films for children and young people: filmmakers, producers, promoters, distributors, exhibitors, TV-programmers, festival organizers, film educators etc. ECFA helps to provide access to a wider variety of European cinema for children worldwide. The aim of the European Children’s Film Association is to support cinema for children and youth in all its aspects: cultural, economic, aesthetic, social, political and educational and to promote quality European cinema for children, enabling them to stimulate their love for cinema. ECFA has almost 150 members comprised of companies and organizations from 41 different countries. H.F.A.C.-Creative Greece became an institutional member in 2022 while takes part to ECFA Scientific Committee, though the Director of Creative Hub GR, Irene Andriopoulou.

The aim of the National Network “Media Literacy: Television, Internet, Cinema” is to cultivate audiovisual literacy skills of students of all levels and promote Media Education in the Greek educational system. The Network’s activities aim to make students aware of the influence of the media (television, internet, cinema) and to strengthen them towards an active and positive use of the media. The aim is also to formulate criteria for the use of audiovisual products, to make students aware of the consequences of excessive involvement with the media and to approach concepts such as “addiction” to the media. H.F.A.C.-Creative Greece is founding member of the Network since 2020, alongside with Educational Radiotelevision of the Ministry of Education and Primary Schools Education Directorate of Serres. The Network is supervised by Aegean University, Primary Schools Faculty, as pedagogical consultant.

The Regional (first as Local) Thematic Network “Film Education” was established in 2017 in the Directorate of Eastern Thessaloniki. The main purpose of the Network is the training of teachers in film education, as well as the exploration of the possibilities of its practical application in the school environment. In the Network participate teachers of all specialties of secondary education, nursery and primary schools of Eastern Thessaloniki as well as their students. Participating teachers attend the training meetings organized by the Network and at the same time implement “Film Education” programmes in their schools with the support of the Network’s steering committee and the collaborating institutions. H.F.A.C.-Creative Greece supports the Network since 2018.

The UNESCO Media and Information Literacy (MIL) Alliance is the UNESCO network as a groundbreaking effort to promote international cooperation to ensure that all citizens have access to media and information literacy competencies. This initiative is aiming at articulating concrete partnerships to drive media and information literacy development and impact globally; enabling the media and information literate community to speak as one voice on certain critical matters by providing a common platform for media and information literacy related networks and associations globally. H.F.A.C.-Creative Greece became a member in 2018.

In 2018, H.F.A.C.-Creative Greece launched a new partnership with UNESCO for the implementation and promotion of joint actions with UNESCO Alliance on Media & Information Literacy. The immediate objective of this new partnership was the establishment, and coordination by H.F.A.C.-Creative Greece, of the EU Sub-Chapter Mediterranean Group for UNESCO MIL Alliance, which brought together organizations and bodies from the field of media and information literacy. During these years, the Group developed as a high-level expertise network with several specific objectives on MIL, bringing together 55 members from 11 Mediterranean countries. The partnership’s goal is to raise MIL awareness towards an active citizenship and further motivating State policies into eventually introducing a more systematic and sustainable MIL policy agenda in the region of the Mediterranean.

Fest of Fests is an initiative run by Michael Cacoyannis Foundation for setting up an international network for youth film festivals, international and national policy-making, as well as academic and educational institutions leading the design and implementation of film literacy programs and initiatives throughout the world. The network is Athens-based, where annual meetings are held at Michael Cacoyannis Foundation with the aim of developing synergies, common strategies and co-productions for a new generation of “screenwise” audience, from whom subsequent creators, as well as the demanding film audience will occur: two complementary factors for the development and expansion of filmmaking production and market. Fest of Fests project and ScreenWiser platform are under the scientific auspices of H.F.A.C.-Creative Greece since 2018.

                             

Creative Hub GR on Innovation, Education & Technology by EKKOMED, ​​promotes networking and the development of collaborations between creators, startups in the cultural sector and the CCIs – Cultural and Creative Industries, in the context of extroversion, production development and setting up a national policy for audiovisual and culture.
